NS Heritage Units

A rare Heritage unit sighting

A few years ago Norfolk Southern Railroad began introducing what it called Heritage Units. Current locomotives painted to represent the original paint schemes of all the smaller former railroads that were absorbed by NS. Such as Southern, Lehigh Valley, Interstate, Nickel Plate and many, many more. As we are on the bottom end of NS territory its very rare that we get to see any of these locomotives in our area. So whenever word gets spread by local railfans that a Heritage unit is headed our way we make every effort to try and photograph it. So here are some shots I have caught over the years.
