A new chapter is about to begin

It has been a while since I have updated this blog. Been rather busy planning for the future. My wife and I found out a short time ago that there is a real good chance, about a 98% chance, that instead of retiring January 29, 2018, I can retire September 29, 2017. 4 months early means we need to get planning for where we will be living. Moving out of Florida for sure.

We found a 3 bedroom apartment in our price range with all the amenities we wanted. And the spare bedroom that is to become the man cave/train room is much bigger than what I have now. So I have spent the last few weeks drawing up a number of different designs taking advantage of the fact that the better half said we didn’t need to use the closet in that room!

This layout has many elements that I wanted.

1. around the walls loop
2. enough industries to keep operations going
3. tracks down the street
4. several scenic elements  to break up the loop
5. a neat small town
6. and a questionable trailer park on the other side of the tracks

So without further ado, here is what its going to, hopefully, look like.
